Book 6 – The Ghost Who Came for Christmas

As of this writing, over on Amazon The Ghost Who Came for Christmas has no 1 or 2-star reviews. 82% of the readers who reviewed the book on Amazon gave it 5-stars, and 17% gave it 4-stars. Just 1% of the Amazon readers who reviewed it gave it 3-stars, and that reviewer called it a “Good Read.”

When surveying subscribers of the Haunting Danielle newsletter (over 1,200), asking which book in the series is their favorite, The Ghost Who Came for Christmas comes in second, after The Ghost of Marlow House.

Unlike the last book—which had a darker Halloween spin—this book brings the reader Christmas magic and according to a number of readers, tears.

This is also the book where Chris is introduced to the series.

Personally, I love a good Christmas story, and I believe this is one that can be read and enjoyed for the holidays without reading any of the previous books in the series.

Happy Birthday Lynnie!

I’ve just one sibling, my sister Lynn. She’s four years older than me. While the age difference seems insignificant now, when we were younger it meant she was the older sister I looked up to and idolized. She was a good big sister, in spite of the fact she once made me eat wadded up toilet paper, and another time she tried to drown me.

When I was in junior high people thought we were twins, which I found cool at the time. My sister, not so much. What teenager wants to be confused with her baby sister? Of course, Lynn got her revenge when we became adults and people would ask, which of you is older? Funny how perception changes when years go by.

Lynn and I were roommates during my first year in college. When she married I was her maid of honor, and when I married, she was my matron of honor.

Lynn is one of my best friends. And today is her birthday. I love you Lynnie; have a wonderful day!

Book 5 – The Book of Halloween Past

If I haven’t mentioned it before, I suggest reading the Haunting Danielle books in order. It’s easy to figure out the order to read, as each book is numbered. While you can read the books out of order—each is a standalone story—the stories are told in chronological order, and you’ll miss some of the backstory if you jump over previous books.

For those looking for a ghost story that actually takes place during Halloween, I suggest you hurry up and read Books 1 through 4, because Book 5—The Ghost of Halloween Past—is the ghost story you are looking for.

I confess, this one is a bit darker and creeper than the other books in the series. I couldn’t help myself. After all, it is Halloween.

In this book, we meet two new characters who will stick around.

It also has a bit of a twist. As one reviewer wrote:

Whoa, I don’t think I’ve ever stopped in the middle of a story and gone back to reread the first several chapters so many times before.  No, it’s not a convoluted mess of a story. That’s not why I had to go reread earlier passages. I just needed to constantly adjust my perspective. The author did some amazing things here.”
