It’s a little crazy to think I am working on Book 24 in my Haunting Danielle series. 24! And I already have my story idea for Book 25.

When I released the first book in my Haunting Danielle series, in the summer of 2014, I had no idea—nor no plan—to run the series this long. I knew it was going to be a series, yet I had no idea how the readers would receive the book and if they would want more.

I’ve said all along that I will continue bringing new Haunting Danielle books if three conditions are met.

1. My readers still wanted them.

2. I have story ideas.

3. I am still able to write the books.

One thing that often happens with series authors, they grow bored of writing the series, or they have another story they are itching to write.

Boredom has not been an issue for me. I’m inspired by my readers and the positive comments I receive. Each book I want to bring something that they won’t just like, but something new and different from the previous books. The challenge has a way of killing any boredom.

As for having another story or book idea distracting my attention—yes that happens with me. But I’ve decided to incorporate the idea—if possible—into one of my Haunting Danielle books. If I didn’t check myself, I could easily bounce around from one series to another, which could have disastrous effects.

One example of an idea incorporated in the Haunting Danielle series is the Christmas shoe (for those who read the last Haunting Danielle book.) For a number of years I have been wanting to write a Christmas book around the shoe. And I finally did.

Don’t rule out the possibility of me starting another series in the distant—or not so distant—future. I have had several ideas, yet still thinking them over. If I do start another series, it won’t mean the end of Haunting Danielle. It simply means I will have more books to write.

As for me, time to see about some coffee. It’s almost 7 am, and I will get this posted to my blog in a few minute. Have a great day!

I do remember when at around book 10 to 12 you posted you felt you would be wrapping up the series somewhere around book 14 or 15. I was one who said as long as you had ideas, to keep it going. You have kept every book fresh and new, while maintaining the original story line! I enjoy seeing what will Walt & Danielle experience with their old friends as well as any new characters you introduce!

I think back then, I had a clearer idea what shark I intended to jump (don’t want to give away spoilers to those who haven’t read that far) and I was thinking I had certain ones I needed to write before I got there. But that shark is behind us, and I keep having more ideas! LOL

Love love the Haunting Danielle series!! I truly hope you continue for many years to come but if you do start another series I so wish that the theme is also around a ghost. I love good ghost stories not evil stories. Oh I understand bad people do bad things but even though some of your character’s are very bad like that Tag Billings you didn’t have his death gory just fitting. Best wishes to you I so love your style of writing.

Thanks for saying there are 24 books! I thought I had read most of them, but I don’t think so.

There will be 24 in March!

My daughter and I love the Haunting Danielle series! I even read the books on my breaks at work because it helps me to relax. The stories are always great! Thank you for writing such an amazing series. I appreciate your writing talents so much!

Thank you for posting! I always find it fun when I can share a book I am reading with someone close to me. Glad you and your daughter are enjoying them!

Love this series, please don’t stop. I would like to know if baby Connor retains his ability as he grows, plus what happens to all our favour characters?

Thank you! I have always said, that as long as I have stories to tell–and my readers still want to read them–and I am still able to write them–the series will continue. Currently, I have lots of ideas for future books and adventures.

I’m totally addicted to the series. The audibles are terrific since I can knit, go for walks, go on long car rides, all while listening to them. Presently, I’m painting my diningroom. I just finished book 22 as I began painting the trim and now I discover book 23 is not available on audible, yet! How will I ever finish the trim without my Marlow House fix??? I feel like I’m beginning to go thru withdrawls!!!

I hope you never get bored with writing these! Only problem is I lose sleep because I can’t put them down. You have a true talent for creating compelling dilemmas.

Glad you are enjoying them, but please get some sleep! Stay safe and thank you for reading!!

Thank you so much for the Haunting Danielle series. I have read every one and am waiting for the nest to come available. Your books are so easy to read and keep me guessing. I love the nature of the characters and the friendship they enjoy. Your books are great for all ages and I have introduced my grandchildren to them who also are enjoying them. Thank you, keep up the good work.

Thank you! My 10 year old granddaughter reads them, as does my 92 year old mother!

It looks like you’re stopping the series at 28. Is this true? Is there any reason why?

    1. Bobbi Holmes Post author

Gee, why do you think that??? No, I don’t have any plans to stop the series. Book 28 will be out in August. As I have said in the past, I will continue to write the series as long as I am physically and mentally able–as long as my readers still want them, and as long as I have ideas for future stories. 🙂

I remember when I first started reading the series you said you probably would have enough to get to book 13 or 14 (if I remember correctly). With each book released, the story line has gotten better and better!

      1. Bobbi Holmes Post author

Joe, I don’t remember ever putting a number on the series. But it is possible. Yet I know I didn’t imagine I would continue this long! 🙂

I know it was a “few” years ago, probably somewhere around book 10 there was a conversation you had on face book and your plans for the series, and what you had originally envisioned for the number of stories you thought you could create for the series. All I know is once you got up to Book 15 or 16, I realized this si a series that probably would go far further than discussed in that conversation!
