Write…sneeze…write…sneeze…publish…

I’m currently wrapping up the 34^th book in my Haunting Danielle series, The Ghost and the Poltergeist, which will be released April 30, 2024.  

When I first started Haunting Danielle, I figured it would be a three to five book series. Silly me. I still have no plans to stop writing about Walt and Danielle. Thirty-four books in a series might sound nuts, but my old childhood favorite, Nancy Drew, had over six hundred titles. Of course, they weren’t all written by the same author. Carolyn Keene was actually the pen name for all the authors of that series.

While I won’t make it to six hundred books in the series, maybe I can write another thirty-four Haunting Danielle Books. As I’ve said before, I will keep writing new ones under three conditions: 

Readers want them. I have story ideas. I am capable of writing them.

The capable part has been a little challenging the last few days. I can’t remember the last time I was sick. Aside from my chronic cough, which started December 2022, ended May 3, 2023 (the day I had my knee replacement surgery) and started up again December 2023, I haven’t really been sick.

But the last couple days I have been knocked over by either a cold or allergies. As you can see by the photos above—all taken in our yard—flowers are blooming all over the place. I love it—but not sure if my body does. 

My sneezes register on the Richter scale, I’ve gone through a box of Kleenex, the cough is worse and the throat is scratchy. There is no temperature, and yesterday I took a Covid test. It was negative.

So I will soldier on, and hopefully get over this soon. The biggest downside, I won’t be able to visit Mom until I’m better. Fortunately, this hit after my sister left last week.

My sister, Lynn, came for a visit on April 5, and surprised me by bringing my daughter along. They were both here to help me celebrate Mom’s 96^th birthday, which was April 6.  Mom had a wonderful day, celebrating with her two daughters, and eldest two grandchildren.

My daughter could only stay for the weekend, as she had to get back to work and her family. My sister stayed for two weeks. During that time, we visited Mom several times a week.

Lynn headed home last Friday, and on Sunday I was hit by this cold. Or allergies. Whatever it is.
